Meet Dr. Leo Menendez

Dr. Menendez received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1989 from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, at the top of his class.  The Baltimore College of Dental Surgery is recognized as one of the premier professional schools in the world and the first dental college in the world established in 1840.

He followed his graduate studies with advanced dental training in 1990 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Baltimore, then continued for one more year at the Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Administration Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.  In 1995, he completed his surgical training at the University of Maryland Medical System hospital and his trauma training at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center both in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Menendez has been practicing the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery since 1995 with special emphasis in advanced techniques in bone grafting and dental implantology.  He belongs to many organized dentistry and oral surgery organizations, including the American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, Southern Maryland Dental Society, Mid-Atlantic Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Association, Maryland Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, in addition to being board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a fellow in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Menendez attends numerous conferences and lectures throughout the year to keep him abreast of the latest advances and techniques in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

When not working, Dr. Menendez enjoys spending time with his wife Amy, and their 2 boys Michael, and Nicholas.
