Background Information

Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Menendez manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Dr. Menendez practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to the diagnosis and treatment of oral pathology. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. We can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.

Dr. Menendez is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS).  To be certified by ABOMS, a candidate must have graduated from an accredited dental school, and have completed an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program approved by the American Dental Association’s Commission on Dental Accreditation.  He must submit and prove competency of his surgical training, pass a comprehensive written qualifying examinationa and a difficult and challenging oral certifying examination.  In addition, he must be re-certified every ten years.  To be board certified means that you are adhering to the highest principles of your specialty.

Our staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) moderate to deep sedation in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.

Surgical Staff

The surgical staff at Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery are experienced oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who assist in administration of IV sedation and surgery.  All of our surgical staff are also licensed radiation technologists.  Our administrative personnel are well-versed in medical and dental insurance policies, and are CPR certified.  Dr. Menendez is additionaly certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Saving, (ACLS).
